Stabbing incident at Ponoka business

RCMP announce arrests have been made

On the afternoon of May 31st, police received a report of a stabbing at the Leland Hotel. According to spokesperson Corporal Troy Savinkoff  "RCMP immediately deployed all of our members in the area including a dog man."  

Once on scene Mounties located an injured 27 year old man.

"The victim of that stabbing was taken to hospital with some serious injuries," said Savinkoff.  

Savinkoff said one of their officers spotted two suspects at a nearby convenience store and the pair were arrested. 

"RCMP have charged both these suspects," added Savinkoff.

26 year old Michael Peigan of Wetaskiwin and his older brother, 32 year old Kendrick Peigan, from Maskwacis, face numerous charges including aggravated assault in connection with the case.

Savinkoff said the victim is expected to survive.
