Ponoka RCMP advise of heavy police presence north of Ponoka east of Hwy 2A-update

 Ponoka RCMP are clear from the heavy police presence on Highway 2A and all suspects have been safely arrested.

 A follow up release with details about this incident is anticipated.

Background

Ponoka RCMP is issuing an advisory of heavy police presence. Police are presently on scene east of Highway 2A, north of Township 440 along Battle River, for a police operation involving a suspect and a weapon. 

RCMP is asking residents in this area to stay inside, lock their doors and stay away from windows while officers respond. Please refrain from posting photos of responding officers on social media.
