Official says that can happen with fires of this magnitude
The fire at a building in the Burnt Lake Industrial Park caused extensive damage. According to Red Deer County Fire Chief, Drayton Bussiere, they know the general area where the fire started but "in that area there was just too much damage for us to pinpoint an exact cause."
The flames were seen by a passing security guard who alerted first responders last Thursday morning around 12:30. It took hours for the blaze to be put out.
So far a damage estimate hasn't been determined.
"We're still kind of working through that and sometimes those things take quite a while for us to come up with" said Bussiere.
