Bylaw 2716/G/25 – Establishing Bylaw – Growth and Commerce Committee Receives First Reading

Council gave first reading to Bylaw 2716/G/25 to formally establish the Growth and Commerce Committee (GCC). The committee will continue to support economic development by identifying opportunities for business and residential growth.

Bylaw 2718/G/25 – Policing Committee Bylaw Receives First Reading

Council gave first reading to Bylaw 2718/G/25 to establish a Policing Committee for Stony Plain, as required by recent provincial legislation. The committee will oversee local policing matters, develop community safety plans, and represent public concerns to the RCMP. Following second and third readings to approve the Bylaw, recruitment for committee members is expected to begin in March, with appointments in May.
