Parkland RCMP have made and arrest and seized the vehicle believed to be involved in the June 3, 2024, serious injury hit and run collision on Highway 16 near Range Road 35 in Parkland County.

 On June 4, 2024, Parkland RCMP received a tip from the public. A warrant was executed at a residence in Parkland County where police located a damaged Chevrolet Orlando van. As a result of continued investigation, a 43-year-old female resident of Parkland County is facing driving related charges pending the completion of the investigation.

Police seek assistance for serious injury hit and run involving a pedestrian

Parkland County, Alta. – On June 3, 2024, at about 12:20 A.M., Parkland RCMP, Parkland Fire and AHS responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 16 near Range Road 35 in Parkland County.

A Grey van was travelling east on this portion of the highway when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the highway.  The vehicle failed to stop and continued east without checking on the person who was struck.  The pedestrian suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was airlifted by STARS air ambulance from the scene.

The RCMP analysis of the scene has identified the suspect vehicle being a 2012-2014 Grey Chevrolet Orlando with front driver’s side damage.

While RCMP continue their investigation, we are asking for public assistance in locating the suspect and the involved vehicle.
