Parkland RCMP respond to serious motor vehicle collision -correction

***RCMP wish to correct that the ambulance was in fact not responding to a call for service and did not have its lights and sirens activated. We apologize for this error. ***

 On Feb. 17, 2025, at 4:50 p.m., Parkland RCMP received a report of a serious collision on Highway 627 and Range Road 273. Upon arrival, emergency responders tended to multiple patients and STARS was contacted. The driver and passenger of an SUV, were flown by STARS to the University of Alberta Hospital. The other vehicle involved in the collision was an ambulance with three EMS personnel onboard, they were taken by secondary ground ambulances to area hospitals.  Parkland RCMP are now clear of the collision.

Police remained on scene for several hours investigating the collision. Investigation has revealed that the SUV was Southbound on Range Road 273 and crossing Highway 627 when it collided with the ambulance travelling East on Highway 627.

The police investigation continues at this time.
