Parkland RCMP respond to serious motor vehicle collision

On Nov. 5, 2024, at 2:12 p.m., Parkland RCMP received a report of a serious collision on Highway 627 and Range Road 273. Upon arrival, emergency responders tended to multiple patients and STARS was contacted. The driver of an SUV, an 18-year-old female resident of Devon, was deceased on scene. The passenger of the SUV was taken by STARS to hospital where they remain in critical condition. The lone occupant of the other vehicle, a school bus, was taken to hospital with non serious injuries.  Parkland RCMP are now clear of the collision.

Police remained on scene for several hours investigating the collision. Investigation has revealed that the SUV was Southbound on Range Road 273 and crossing Highway 627 when it was struck by the school bus travelling East on Highway 627.  

Alberta RCMP send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
