On Jan. 26, 2025, at approximately 8:30 P.M. the Parkland RCMP received a report of a deceased person located on Highway 16 near Range Road 12. Upon arrival the RCMP located a deceased person with injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.
While Parkland RCMP continue to investigate this incident, we are asking members of the public who travelled along Highway 16 between the hours of 8:00 P.M. and 8:45 P.M. to review your dash camera and advise the Parkland RCMP if you observed a pedestrian or anything suspicious.

Parkland RCMP - Collision on Eastbound Lanes of Highway 16
Parkland County, Alta: Parkland RCMP are currently on scene of a serious collision impacting the eastbound lanes of Highway 16 between Range Road 13 to Hwy 779.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 16 are being re-routed at Range Road 21 onto Highway 16a through Stony Plain. This detour is expected to remain through the night. Motorists are advised to expect delays and abide by the established detours.
