Update: Peacocks found safe, stolen truck still not located

UPDATE: The two peacocks were located by two members of the public on Highway 16 near Duffield. They have been safely returned to their owners. Police have yet to locate the stolen truck. 


STONY PLAIN -- Parkland RCMP are searching for a stolen truck containing two peacocks.

According to police, the truck was stolen in the 60 Block of Boulder Boulevard in Stony Plain on Apr. 26, 2026. In a statement, RCMP say that they're concerned for the well-being of the two tropical birds and are requesting the public's assistance in locating the vehicle and animals. At this time, no possible suspects have been identified as an investigation into the matter continues.

The truck is described as a White 2005 Ford F-350 Crew Cab, with aluminum bed rails and headache rack with a light bar on top. It also features a chrome bumper with additional amber lights on the grill, and B.C. license plate SY7996.
