Parkland RCMP investigate home invasion

Parkland County

On Sept. 9, 2024, Parkland RCMP received a report of a Break and Enter and a potential extortion with a firearm at a residence in Parkland County. Upon arrival, police located the homeowner and removed her from the residence to ensure her safety. Police immediately searched the home and located two suspects as well as a loaded 9 mm handgun in the home. During the break in, one of the suspects was attacked by a large dog in the home causing fairly significant injury.  This suspect was transported to hospital where after receiving treatment was taken back to the detachment.

As a result of the investigation RCMP have charged Edmonton resident Jeante Michael Maddox (41), with:

• Break and enter;
• Possession of a weapon contrary to order (x3);
• Extortion with a firearm;
• Possession of a restricted firearm;
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
• Sing a firearm in the commission of an offence;
• Pointing a firearm;
• Careless use of a firearm.

Maddox was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Sept 25, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain.

RCMP have charged Edmonton resident Alexander James Kuzniarski (40), with:

• Break and enter;
• Extortion with a firearm;
• Possession of a restricted firearm;
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
• Sing a firearm in the commission of an offence;
• Pointing a firearm;
• Fail to comply with a release order:
• Possession of a weapon contrary to order:
• Careless use of a firearm.

Kuzniarski was take before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Sept 10, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain.
