The Tri-Municipal Region is preparing for an evening focused on men’s mental health and wellnessOn February 19 from 6 PM to 9 PM, community members are invited to a special watch party of the fourth annual Love Letter to Men: A Celebration of Men and Mental Health virtual conference at MR MIKES Steakhouse in Stony Plain.

The Love Letter to Men: Celebrating Men and Mental Health conference will feature presentations highlighting research in men's mental health, practical resources, and proven best practices from Alberta and beyond. Attendees can look forward to engaging community discussions focused on men’s well-being and promoting mental wellness awareness throughout the region.

“Supporting men’s mental health is about creating spaces where open dialogue is encouraged and people feel safe to share their struggles,” says Mayor William Choy. “Events like this watch party bring our community closer together and remind us that no one has to face their challenges alone.”

"This event is centered on men’s mental health, but everyone is welcome to attend. For those who do not identify as men, the watch party offers an opportunity to learn about the challenges men face, as well as the resources and tools available to support their mental well-being,” says Community Development Officer Akorfa Mawutor. “Together, we can foster understanding and create a more supportive community.”

To complement the themes of this event, the nation-wide Buddy Up campaign serves as a year-round resource for anyone looking to promote men’s mental well-being. With a focus on education, connection, and actionable steps, Buddy Up offers powerful tools for creating a supportive environment for men in your life.

The Love Letter to Men: Celebrating Men and Mental watch party is a partnership between the Town of Stony Plain, City of Spruce Grove, Parkland County, and MR MIKES Steakhouse. The Love Letter to Men conference is hosted by The Alberta Men’s Collaborative, an organization dedicated to exploring and promoting best practices that support the health and well-being of men. Tickets for the watch party are $12 per person, which includes a voucher for MR MIKES Steakhouse to be used the evening of the event. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Love Letter to Men event on the calendar.

Community members can also register to attend the conference virtually at no cost by visiting Love Letter to Men.
