Stony Plain, AB
The annual Strategic Planning Session has concluded, providing Council and Senior Administration with a valuable opportunity to review progress, evaluate factors of influence, and confirm the community's future direction. This session remains a cornerstone in ensuring the Town’s continued alignment with its vision and strategic priorities.
“Reflecting on our progress and reaffirming our direction is a critical responsibility for Council,” says Mayor William Choy. “I am proud of our time together at this year’s Strategic Planning Session. It is clear Council remains committed to ensuring our priorities are focused on our vision for a thriving and future-ready Stony Plain.”
While recognizing emerging opportunities and challenges, Council reflected on the value of advancing the current strategic priorities. Discussions centered on the following key themes:
- Strengthening public trust through meaningful engagement
- Delivering valuable services and projects that enhance residents’ quality of life
- Investing in infrastructure to guide sustainable growth
“Our annual Strategic Planning Session is essential in aligning Council and Senior Administration’s vision for the future,” says Chief Administrative Officer, Tom Goulden. “This session not only allows us to address emerging factors but also solidifies the ongoing priorities that continue to drive Stony Plain’s growth and success. This year’s dialogue ensures we remain on track as a community and as an organization.”
As the final Strategic Planning Session for this term of Council, the outcomes reflect a commitment to continuity and progress. These discussions will form the basis of the Strategic Plan update, set to be presented for approval at the February 24 Regular Meeting of Council.
