Stony Plain, AB
Get ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference in our community! Pitch-In Week is back in Stony Plain, running from April 13 to April 22, 2024, in conjunction with Earth Day on April 22. This annual initiative aims to mobilize volunteers from the community to participate in a collective effort to clean up and preserve local greenspaces.
Pitch-In Week presents an opportunity for residents, schools, and organizations to come together and volunteer for a cleaner, healthier Stony Plain. From picking up litter along streets to restoring natural habitats, participants will play a vital role in enhancing the beauty and sustainability of our community. Groups are encouraged to take photos while they work and tag the Town on social media channels using the hashtag #PitchInWeek2024 and #StonyPlain.
“We are thrilled to announce the return of Pitch-In Week to Stony Plain,” says Operations Administrative Assistant, Patricia Cook. “This initiative is a great way for community members to get together, enjoy the outdoors, and participate in a collective action.”
“Pitch-In Week is an excellent example of our commitment to environmental responsibility as outlined in the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan,” says Mayor William Choy. “We’re dedicated to protecting the environment for present and future generations through practical, sustainable actions. Let’s work together to ensure Stony Plain remains clean and green!”
Residents, schools, and organizations can register for Pitch-In Week 2024 through the online Registration Form. Registered volunteers will be provided with collection bags and disposable gloves. The registration deadline is April 6, 2024 at 4:30 PM.
