Mark Tamagi, Founder – Founder and President of Blackgold Broadcasting Inc, the license holder for 93.1 The ONE - Leduc, AB and 88.1 The ONE - Stony Plain/Spruce Grove, AB and 89.7 The ONE - Ponoka, AB.
Mark has extensive experience in the Alberta Radio market. He is a graduate of Lethbridge College with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism and is a Certified Radio Manager (CRM). He has more than 35 years direct radio experience, primarily in senior management. He worked his entire broadcast career in markets very similar to those that make up Leduc and Parkland County. His work has taken him to smaller radio markets in Alberta and British Columbia, working for Nornet Broadcasting, Okanagan Skeena and Telemedia.
Mark was instrumental in doubling the revenues of Nornet Broadcasting during his 13-year tenure. During his career at Nornet, He brought the first World Professional Chuckwagon Association and Canadian Professional Rodeo Association broadcasts to rural Alberta radio. He also helped establish the rural radio network that broadcast Edmonton Oilers NHL Hockey Play-by-Play, bringing this exciting programming to small rural markets that previously had no access to such features.
