Tanni Doblanko reappointed to serve eighth term as Mayor of Leduc County

At this morning’s organizational meeting, Tanni Doblanko was reappointed to serve her eighth term as Mayor.

Nominated by division four Councillor Larry Wanchuk, Doblanko was honoured and spoke to the work Council has completed together throughout this term.

“Thank you to my fellow Councillors for their continued faith in me as Mayor. This position is one I lead with heart and passion, and a large part of this passion stems from the work we have completed together this term. I look forward to the year ahead where we will continue to openly debate, have honest discussions and make the best decisions we can for Leduc County."

Doblanko has served as Leduc County Councillor representing division five since October 2013; she was appointed to her first term as Mayor in October 2017 and has been re-elected each year since.

A mayor is appointed from amongst Council each year at the organizational meeting to serve a one-year term. The deputy mayor position is determined on an eight-month rotational basis. The deputy mayor schedule for the remainder of this Council term is as follows:

• July 1, 2024 to Feb. 28, 2025: division six Councillor Glenn Belozer
• March 1, 2025 to October 2025: division seven Councillor Ray Scobie
