Leduc Transit celebrates one million rides

Hop on board and ride for free on September 13

On Sept. 13, Leduc Transit will celebrate completing its one millionth ride, a major milestone since the service first launched in November 2010.

To mark the occasion, everyone gets to ride for free on Sept. 13.

Over the years, the partnership between the City of Leduc and Leduc County has grown from offering service between Leduc and Edmonton to connecting Leduc, Nisku, Edmonton International Airport (YEG), and Edmonton seven days a week.

“Leduc Transit Service is a vital service for our residents, it helps travellers reach their destinations safely on time, every day,” said Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “As we celebrate our one-millionth ride, it's important to recognize the hard work of our transit operators who have driven countless kilometres in and around our community.”

“Being able to provide residents and commuters with transit options in our region has had a positive impact in the County,” says Tanni Doblanko, Mayor of Leduc County. “Public transit has enabled businesses to grow and has brought new employees and visitors to the region, which has helped diversify and grow the local economy. Congratulations to Leduc Transit on its one-millionth ride! We are proud to be part of this vital service.”
