Leduc RCMP catch two break-and-enter suspects in the act

On Aug. 6, 2024, Leduc RCMP responded to a report of two intruders at a rural residence in the area of Highway 39 and Range Road 262 in Leduc County.

RCMP members immediately responded to the area where they were advised by the property rep. that they had arrived at the residence and interrupted the break and enter. One of the suspects fled on foot and the other fled in a vehicle which became disabled and the suspect then fled on foot.

Members of Leduc RCMP with the assistance of the Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services searched the area, located and arrested both suspects.

Dallas Christopher Halladay (36), a resident of Devon, Alta. was charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Failure to stop after accident

Following a judicial hearing Dallas Halladay was remanded in custody. He has since been released and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on Sept. 26, 2024.

Sheldon Dean Halladay (39), a resident of Devon was charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Following a judicial hearing Sheldon Halladay was remanded in custody. He has since been released and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc on Sept. 26, 2024.

Leduc RCMP would like to thank the member of the public who observed a crime in progress at a rural property and reported it to police immediately. This person was instrumental in this duo being caught by police.
